Hearing Tests in Shanklin, Isle of Wight
Finding it difficult to hear a conversation? Perhaps you are constantly rewinding the TV or turning the volume up, or putting off making phone calls? These are clear signs of hearing loss that shouldn’t be ignored. It can be difficult to accept that there is a problem, especially with something as precious as your hearing, but the sooner we can determine you are suffering from hearing loss, the sooner we can recommend treatments to slow down its progress. Hearing loss is not always age related and can be an indication of other underlying health conditions so it is important to get it checked.
At our Shanklin hearing centre, based at Hazel Smith Opticians, we offer free hearing checks and hearing assessments for your peace of mind. Our expert audiologist can advise you on your hearing loss cause, and any recommended hearing treatment or the best hearing aid for you. We offer a wide range of invisible, digital, bluetooth hearing aids and rechargeable models too. All our hearing aids come with free lifetime aftercare and up to 5 years’ warranty for your complete care.
If you are suffering from excess ear wax, causing you ear ache, sore ears, fullness or itchiness in your ears, you may find our ear wax removal service of benefit. Using microsuction, this is quick, effective, painless and liquid-free.
Our Shanklin hearing clinic is located just 10mins walk from Shanklin train station and a 5 min walk from Shanklin bus station (outside the big co-op). For patients arriving by car, we would suggest parking at Landguard Road car park (short stay) or Orchard Lee car park (long stay).

MEET OUR AUDIOLOGIST
Nick has been in audiology for over 5 years, having studied at Mary Hare Newbury under Oxford Brooks University. After qualifying he also trained in wax removal. Nick believes the most enjoyable part of his job is meeting and helping clients with hearing difficulties. He finds it an extremely satisfying profession, meeting clients and helping them to improve their hearing.
Nick has three children and two grandchildren that take up a great deal of his spare time. When not with them, and weather permitting, he says there is nothing better than rolling his Harley Davidson out of the garage and hitting the open road. Top of Nick’s bucket list is to take his Harley to America’s Yellowstone national park.Book an appointment
