Beltone Illuminate: features & benefits
- Three technologies working together: Beltone calls this True Directionality. AcoustIQ senses your surroundings, four-microphone focus brings forward the voice in front of you, and AI noise reduction steps in automatically when it gets loud. AcoustIQ and the four-microphone focus are included at every technology level. The full combination comes on the top technology level of the rechargeable microRIE.
- Extra calm when you want it: On the microRIE, a simple swipe in the Beltone HearMax app gives an extra boost of AI noise reduction for moments when you need more focus.
- Streaming and Auracast: Stream calls, music and TV directly to your hearing aids using the latest Bluetooth LE Audio. Illuminate also supports Auracast, a new broadcast technology that lets you tune in to audio in public places such as theatres, places of worship and conference venues as it’s introduced. Streaming is available on every style except the custom CIC.
- Hands-free calls: Answer and end calls with a tap of the ear on compatible iPhones and Android phones. This works on the RIE styles and the rechargeable custom styles.
- The Beltone HearMax app: Check battery level, adjust volume and sound, and find Auracast broadcasts near you. Software updates also come through the app.

Beltone Illuminate Receiver-in-Ear (RIE) hearing aids
The main part of a RIE hearing aid sits discreetly behind the ear and a thin wire carries sound to a small speaker in the ear canal. The RIE styles come in 10 colours, from Sparkling Silver and Sand to Navy Blue and Red.
Beltone Illuminate microRIE
The standout model in the range. Beltone says it’s the world’s smallest rechargeable hearing aid with AI. It gives up to 24 hours from a single charge, even with streaming, and simply drops into its charger with no connectors to line up. A button lets you change volume or programmes, and a small light confirms when it switches on and off.
Beltone Illuminate RIE (battery)
For people who would rather not recharge, Illuminate is also made in RIE styles that run on standard disposable batteries. They have the same Bluetooth streaming and Auracast support.
Beltone Illuminate CROS
For people with little or no usable hearing in one ear. A CROS microRIE picks up sound on the weaker side and sends it to the hearing aid on the better ear, so you don’t miss conversation on your ‘bad side’.
Beltone Illuminate custom hearing aids
Illuminate custom hearing aids are made from an impression of your ears, taken by your local Amplify audiologist, so they sit comfortably inside the ear with nothing behind it. They come in 6 colours, from Light Beige to Dark Brown and Anthracite, to blend in with your skin tone.
Beltone Illuminate ITE (rechargeable)
The largest custom style, filling the outer of the ear. That makes it easy to handle if you find small devices fiddly. It’s rechargeable and includes Bluetooth streaming and hands-free calls.
Beltone Illuminate ITC (rechargeable)
A smaller In-The-Canal style that sits lower in the ear, so it’s less noticeable. It’s rechargeable and includes Bluetooth streaming and hands-free calls.
Beltone Illuminate ITC (battery)
The same discreet In-The-Canal shape, running on disposable batteries. It still streams via Bluetooth, but doesn’t support hands-free calls.
Beltone Illuminate CIC
Beltone’s smallest Illuminate hearing aid, sitting deep in the ear canal for maximum discretion. To keep it this small it has no wireless features, so there’s no streaming or app control.
Beltone Illuminate: supported accessories
Beltone makes a small range of accessories to help Illuminate wearers in situations where hearing aids alone can struggle:
- TV-Streamer+: Sends TV sound straight to your hearing aids, so you can set your own volume without turning it up for everyone else. It supports Auracast.
- Multi-Mic+: Place it on the table or clip it to the person you’re talking to, and their voice is sent directly to your hearing aids from up to 25 metres away. It’s useful in noisy restaurants, meetings and lectures, and it now has a replaceable battery.
- Chargers: Premium portable chargers for the microRIE, and dedicated chargers for the rechargeable custom styles.
- Beltone HearMax app: Free for iPhone and Android. Use it to adjust your hearing aids, check battery level and find Auracast broadcasts.
