Widex hearing aids

Founded in Denmark in 1956, Widex is now part of WS Audiology and is known above all for natural sound. Its hearing aids are designed to keep voices, music and everyday sounds true to life, which makes Widex a popular choice with music lovers.

The latest Widex range is Widex Allure. It now includes the new Allure AI RIC, which adds an AI “Clarity Boost” you can switch on when a room gets noisy, alongside Allure RIC, BTE and custom in-the-ear models.

5 reasons to choose Widex Allure

  1. Sound that stays natural: Widex’s ZeroDelay processing avoids the slight delay many hearing aids add, so your own voice and the world around you sound real. Widex reports that its Allure PureSound programme improves speech understanding in noise by 4.3 dB for people with mild to moderate hearing loss.
  2. Extra clarity at the tap of a finger: The new Allure AI RIC adds Clarity Boost, an AI programme you switch on with a tap on the hearing aid or in the app when a restaurant or gathering gets loud. The rest of the time, you keep Widex’s natural sound.
  3. Clearer conversations in noise: Allure’s Speech Enhancer Pro focuses on voices while keeping you aware of what’s around you. In Widex’s own research, 92% of users preferred Allure in noisy situations.
  4. Fewer whistles: A new Dynamic Feedback Controller adapts in real time to stop the annoying whistling some hearing aids make, without dulling the sound.
  5. A style for everyone: Allure now comes in four rechargeable models: two discreet RIC styles, a BTE and a custom in-the-ear model. All work with the same easy-to-use Widex Allure app.

Widex Allure: features & benefits

Every Allure hearing aid is built on Widex’s W1 chip and what Widex calls Precision Hearing Technology. It’s a set of five features designed to make speech clearer without cutting you off from your surroundings.

Natural sound first: Allure PureSound combines Widex’s ZeroDelay technology with advanced processing for clear, authentic sound. That’s particularly noticeable with music and your own voice.

Smooth, automatic adjustments: An Enhanced Sound Classifier recognises 11 different types of listening environment and moves between them smoothly, so the sound stays stable as you go from a quiet room to a busy street.

AI only when you want it (Allure AI RIC): Widex has deliberately not made its AI ‘always on’. Clarity Boost uses a dedicated AI co-processor that you activate only when you need help in noise. In Widex’s own testing, speech was significantly easier to understand with Clarity Boost than with a leading competitor’s AI hearing aid.

Steady streaming: A dedicated streaming compressor keeps music, podcasts and calls at a steady volume, without sudden jumps or interference.

The Widex Allure app: Adjust volume and programmes, check battery level, and use the app’s AI assistant for quick sound suggestions or a guided fine-tune. It also helps you find a lost hearing aid. On the Allure AI RIC, you can turn Clarity Boost on from the app.

Widex Allure AI RIC R D hearing aids

The newest addition to the Allure range, with a dedicated AI co-processor alongside Widex’s W1 chip. For everyday listening it gives you Widex’s natural sound. When things get loud, a tap on the hearing aid or in the app switches on ‘Clarity Boost‘ for extra help hearing speech.

All-day power: Widex quotes up to 32 hours from a single charge, including up to 6 hours of AI use or streaming. Charge at home with the Standard Charger or the Charge n Clean, or on the go with the Portable Charger.

Discreet and adaptable: A slim housing and almost-invisible receiver wire, with a choice of receiver lengths, two receiver strengths, and instant or custom ear tips. If your hearing changes, the fit can be adjusted.

Connected: Bluetooth for hands-free calls with compatible devices, plus a built-in telecoil for hearing loop systems in theatres and public venues.

Widex Allure RIC R D hearing aids

The original Allure model, and still a great choice if you want Widex’s natural sound in a modern, discreet behind-the-ear (RIC) style, without the AI co-processor.

All-day power: up to 25 hours of use per charge, including around 7 hours of streaming.

Personalisation: the Widex Allure app lets you fine-tune your sound with AI-guided help, and offers controls on Apple Watch too.

Future-proof streaming: hands-free calls on iPhone, streaming from Android phones, and LE Audio, ready for Auracast broadcast audio.

Widex Allure BTE R D hearing aids

A rechargeable behind-the-ear model that brings Allure’s sound to people who need more power. It has a slim design, advanced connectivity and convenient chargers, and Widex describes it as a dependable choice for anyone wanting power, durability and control. A BTE is often the right choice for more significant hearing loss, and is easy to handle.

Widex hearing aid accessories

Widex provides a range of accessories for Allure hearing aids:

More information & advice

Widex has taken a different approach to AI from most manufacturers. Rather than processing everything through AI all the time, Allure keeps Widex’s signature natural sound for everyday life. On the Allure AI RIC, it adds AI only when you ask for it. That suits people who love natural sound and music but sometimes struggle in noisy places.

With four models now in the range, from discreet RIC styles to a powerful BTE and a custom in-the-ear option, there’s an Allure hearing aid for most types of hearing loss and lifestyle. Your local Amplify audiologist can help you compare them, and compare Allure with the other leading brands, before you decide.
