Starkey are one of the most well known hearing aid manufacturers in the world. They have been around for over 50 years, and in that time they have built a reputation as a hearing aid manufacturer dedicated to innovations that improve hearing and quality of life for their users.
They were among the first to build artificial intelligence (AI) into hearing aids, and in recent years they have also added health and wellbeing features such as activity tracking and fall alerts.

We supply and fit the full Starkey Omega AI range, which is the latest range having replaced the Edge AI models. Omega AI offers a wide range of hearing aid models, from discreet rechargeable models that sit behind the ear to custom-made aids that fit inside the ear canal.
As an independent provider, we’ll only recommend Omega AI if it’s the right fit for your hearing, lifestyle and budget, and you can try Omega AI with the reassurance of our 60-day money-back guarantee.
5 reasons to choose Starkey Omega AI
- Easier conversations in noisy places. Omega AI is designed to pick out the voices around you and turn down background distractions, so a meal out or a busy family gathering takes less effort to follow. Starkey’s own testing reports up to 28% better speech understanding in challenging environments.
- Battery life that lasts more than a day. Starkey report that the rechargeable RIC RT model gives up to 51 hours from a single charge. For most people, that means charging every other night rather than worrying about running out every evening.
- Made for everyday life. A tougher water-resistant coating helps protect against rain, sweat and moisture. Small indicator lights on the behind-the-ear models show at a glance whether they’re on and connected, and can also help you find a hearing aid you’ve put down and misplaced.
- Extra peace of mind. Built-in sensors can track daily activity and send an alert to a chosen contact if you have a fall. It’s a reassuring feature for people living alone and for their families too.
- Stay connected. Stream phone calls, music and TV straight to your hearing aids. Selected models also work with hearing loop systems, and the range supports Auracast, the new Bluetooth broadcast standard that is starting to appear in theatres, places of worship and public venues.

Starkey Omega AI: features & benefits
Hearing that follows the conversation: Omega AI introduces what Starkey calls DNN 360, an AI system that works out where speech is coming from and focuses on it as you move around. It’s designed to help when the person you’re talking to isn’t directly in front of you.
Help between appointments: A feature called TeleHear AI in the My Starkey app lets you describe a problem in your own words, such as “voices sound too sharp in the kitchen”. The app then suggests an adjustment on the spot. It doesn’t replace your audiologist, but it can make small everyday niggles easier to sort.
Health and wellbeing tools: Alongside activity tracking and fall alerts, the My Starkey app now includes Balance Builder, a set of guided at-home exercises to help with steadiness.
Support for tinnitus: Built-in sound therapy options can help take the edge off ringing or buzzing in the ears. Ask your local audiologist and this can set these up as part of your fitting.
A style to suit you: Choose from a range of rechargeable Omega AI models that sit discreetly behind the ear, a model that uses standard batteries, and custom-made hearing aids moulded to the shape of your ear.
Starkey Omega AI (RIC) hearing aids
Omega AI comes in three Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) models. The main part sits discreetly behind the ear, with a thin wire carrying sound to a small speaker in the ear canal.
Starkey Omega AI RIC RT
The longest-lasting model in the range, with up to 51 hours from a single charge. It has an indicator light and a built-in telecoil for hearing loop systems. It can also be fitted as a CROS system for people with little or no usable hearing in one ear.
Starkey Omega AI mRIC R
The smallest and most discreet RIC model, and the most popular choice for many wearers. It’s rechargeable, gives up to 41 hours per charge, and has the same indicator light as the RIC RT.
Starkey Omega AI RIC 312
A compact model that runs on standard size 312 batteries instead of a charger. It suits people who travel often or would rather swap a battery than remember to charge. It is also available as a CROS option.

Starkey Omega AI (ITE) hearing aids
Omega AI is also available in three custom-made styles. Each is built from an impression of your ear, taken by your Amplify audiologist, so it sits comfortably with nothing behind the ear.
Starkey Omega AI ITE R
The largest custom model, filling the outer bowl of the ear. That makes it the easiest to handle, which helps if you find small devices fiddly. It’s rechargeable, with up to 42 hours per charge.
Starkey Omega AI ITC R
A smaller In-The-Canal model that sits lower in the ear, so it’s less noticeable. It’s still rechargeable, also with up to 42 hours per charge.
Starkey Omega AI CIC
The most discreet option. This Completely-In-Canal model sits deep inside the ear canal and is very hard to spot. It uses disposable batteries, and because of its tiny size it has fewer wireless and connectivity features than the rechargeable models.

StarLink Edge TV Streamer: Sends the TV sound straight to your hearing aids, so you can set a volume that suits you without turning it up for everyone else. With Omega AI, streaming starts and reconnects automatically when you sit down to watch.
Remote microphone: Clip it to a companion or place it on a table, and voice is sent straight to your hearing aids. It’s useful in restaurants, meetings and in the car.
StarLink Charger 2.0 and Premium Charger 2.0: Chargers for the rechargeable behind-the-ear models. The Premium version has its own built-in battery, so you can charge your hearing aids on the go when you’re not going to be around a plug.
My Starkey app: Free for iPhone and Android. Use it to adjust volume and settings, use TeleHear AI, track your activity and wellbeing, and locate a misplaced hearing aid.

More information & advice
Omega AI was launched in October 2025 as the successor to Edge AI. From the outside the two look almost identical, so the changes are mainly inside, in how the hearing aids process sound, how durable they are, and what they can do alongside the Starkey app.
Is Omega AI right for you? The RIC models suit mild to severe hearing loss, and the custom in-ear models generally suit mild to moderately-severe loss. Omega AI is offered at several technology levels. Some features, including DNN 360, are only included at the top level, so it’s worth discussing which level matches the situations you find hardest with your local Amplify audiologist.
Arrange an appointment to have a chat with your local audiologist. We will test your hearing, talk through the situations that matter most to you, and explain which style and technology level would help. If Omega AI is a good fit, they’ll fit it to your prescription and fine-tune it at follow-up appointments.
Worth knowing: Every manufacturer has released new AI powered hearing aid recently. As an independent provider we fit all the leading brands, so if another range would suit you better, we’ll tell you.
