Phonak hearing aids

Phonak is a Swiss hearing aid maker that’s known for hearing aids that connect to almost any phone, and for its Roger wireless microphones, which help people hear in the most difficult situations.

The newest Phonak range is Phonak EON. It includes Audéo EON Sphere, the newest version of Phonak’s AI-powered Sphere hearing aid, now smaller and lighter, and Audéo EON R, a compact rechargeable hearing aid for everyday life.

We are proud suppliers of the new Phonak EON range, including Audéo EON Sphere, Audéo EON R and CROS EON R. On this page you’ll find five reasons to choose EON, its main features and benefits, the models available, and the accessories that work with them.

5 reasons to choose Phonak EON

  1. Clearer speech in loud places: Audéo EON Sphere uses a dedicated AI chip to separate voices from background noise in real time, from any direction.
  2. Smaller and lighter than before: The new Audéo EON Sphere is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous Sphere model. It’s easier to wear all day and much more discreet.
  3. Battery that keeps going: Both Audéo EON models offer up to 38 hours from a single charge, according to Phonak, so a full day out won’t leave you short on power.
  4. Connects to almost anything: EON works with virtually any Bluetooth phone, iPhone or Android, for hands-free calls, music and TV. It also supports Auracast broadcasts in theatres, gyms and other public places.
  5. Less wind, more conversation: A new feature called WindBlock 2.0 cuts wind noise automatically, so walks, golf and chats outdoors are far more comfortable.

Phonak EON: features & benefits

Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0 (Audéo EON Sphere): Phonak’s AI speech technology runs on a dedicated chip called HYPERSONIC. It pulls voices out of background noise in real time. Phonak’s research shows it improves speech understanding from any direction compared with the same hearing aid without it, and makes listening less tiring.

AutoSense OS AI 8.0 (all EON models): EON’s automatic system recognises where you are and adjusts as you go: a quiet room, a noisy restaurant, a windy walk. You don’t have to change programmes. In busy places with changing noise, it now keeps speech support switched on for longer, so conversations feel steadier.

WindBlock 2.0: Phonak says this reduces wind noise by up to 50 dB. In its own study, people preferred it to the previous version for comfort, naturalness and speech clarity.

‘Made for All’ connectivity: Connect to iPhone, Android and virtually any Bluetooth device for hands-free calls and streaming. Auracast lets you tune in to broadcast audio in supported public places. Join quickly by scanning a QR code in the myPhonak app.

Roger compatibility: EON hearing aids work with Phonak’s Roger wireless microphones, which send a speaker’s voice straight to your ears. They’re a real help in noisy places and at a distance.

Easy care: Phonak EasyGuard domes help keep ear wax out of the receiver, so the hearing aids need less cleaning and fewer repairs.

Phonak Audéo EON Sphere hearing aids

The flagship of the EON range. Audéo EON Sphere is the only EON model with Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0 and the HYPERSONIC AI chip. It’s Phonak’s answer for people who struggle the most with conversation in busy, noisy places.

Smaller than ever: 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous Sphere, so it’s comfortable and discreet behind the ear.

All-day power: up to 38 hours from a single charge, according to Phonak. Actual time depends on your hearing loss, how much you stream and which features are active.

Suitable for: mild to profound hearing loss.

Colours: 8 options from Sand Beige and Champagne to Velvet Black and Sienna Red.

Phonak Audéo EON R hearing aids

A compact, fully rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid with Phonak’s latest automatic sound system, AutoSense OS AI 8.0. It’s a great everyday choice if you want natural sound, universal connectivity and all-day battery life, but don’t need the extra AI processing of the Sphere model.

All-day power: up to 38 hours from a single charge, according to Phonak.

Suitable for: mild to profound hearing loss.

Works with CROS: pairs with Phonak CROS EON R if you have no usable hearing in one ear.

Colours: the same 8 colour options that are available with Audéo EON Sphere.

Phonak Virto Infinio hearing aids

If you’d prefer a custom-made hearing aid that sits inside the ear, Phonak’s current custom range is Virto R Infinio, which is built on Phonak’s previous Infinio platform rather than EON.

The Virto Infinio models offer a comfortable and discreet In-The-Ear (ITE) option with rechargeable convenience and a early invisible Completely-In-Canal (CIC) hearing aid for maximum discretion. The Virto Infinio Titanium IIC offers ultimate levels of discretion. This Invisible-In-Canal (IIC) option is crafted from durable titanium for exceptional strength and minimal visibility.

More information & advice

Phonak’s Sphere hearing aids made a name for themselves with AI that separates speech from noise. That extra AI processing came in a larger hearing aid, though. With EON, Phonak has kept that technology but made Audéo EON Sphere smaller and lighter, with battery life to match. So people who were previously put off by the size now have a more realistic choice.

Sphere or R? If noisy restaurants, family gatherings or busy workplaces are your biggest challenge, Audéo EON Sphere is designed for exactly that. If your days are mostly quieter, Audéo EON R gives you Phonak’s latest automatic sound, connectivity and battery life in a compact design. Your local Amplify audiologist can let you hear the difference and compare both with the other leading brands.
